This academy gives the third-year students tools to succeed beyond SOAR. The focus is on learning skills and matters that will help them become responsible and capable young adults. Classes include:
- Conflict resolution
- Effective presentation
- Job search and application process
- Dress for success and interview preparation
- Interview practice
- Personal finance
- Human trafficking
Because some SOAR youths will be close to graduating from high school by this time, they will visit three Bay Area college campuses. We also introduce our young participants to emancipation services and legal services for foster youth.
