Prepare To SOAR

This academy is discovery in nature for the first year SOAR youth. The focus is on discovering new horizons, including post-secondary education and pathways to it.

The academic workshops will give the youth a new look at math, writing and science in that it will be critical thinking oriented, thought provoking and exploring – much more than just memorizing the rules and formulas. Academy youth will meet former foster youth and learn survival tips that will ease their own journey through the foster care system.

Some of the youth will discover for the first time that there are other foster youth in similar situations. They are not alone in having to deal with insurmountable obstacles in life. And, with help from its supporters SOAR for Youth is committed to preparing them to soar.
