Learn To SOAR

This academy will give the second year students opportunities to explore within the SOAR for Youth environment. The focus is on learning and growing academically and socially.

While learning skills that will help them succeed in life, the teens will have time to get reacquainted with one another. By participating in rigorous outdoor activities they will bond, build additional trust, learn intensive teamwork and gain greater self-esteem. Classes offered will include:

• Project management
• Computer classes (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Exploring personality types
• Communicating with different people
• Post secondary education options
• Banking know-how’s
• Etiquette

Career night will feature role models from various professions such as Business and Law to demonstrate what one can achieve in life with determination and hard work. Departing from the academy the youth will each take away a vision board that they have created. These boards about their desired future will serve as a tangible reminder of what they should be striving for while away from the SOAR academies.
